Visiting the website
Our technical hosting provider is Netlify, Inc. When you visit the website, technically necessary connection data are processed, especially your IP address, the time, requested page and browser information. This is necessary to deliver the website, diagnose errors and defend against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data are retained only as long as needed for operation and security; technical logs are subject to the provider’s retention periods.
Room enquiries
If you enquire about a room using the form or by email, we use your details to assess the enquiry, suggest suitable rooms and contact you. These details include your name, email address, age, preferred move-in period and information about your plans, room needs and shared living. Fields marked optional help us find a match but are not required. The legal basis is taking steps before entering into a contract at your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Without the required contact and move-in details, we cannot reasonably process an enquiry.
Messages are sent and received through the IONOS mailbox interesse@wg-zimmer-nuernberg.de. This mailbox is connected to Immoware24 to process room enquiries. The management team receives copies at christine.unterleiter@kkwprojekte.de, klaus.wuest@kkwprojekte.de and sophia.leidner@kkwprojekte.de. For internal processing, applications are also stored in a protected area of the website. The management team can view application details, processing status and history there. Storage is provided by Netlify in the European data region.
We delete enquiries when they are no longer needed for finding a room, unless statutory retention duties apply. If you expressly ask to join the waiting list, we keep your enquiry until that request is dealt with or you ask us to delete it.
For non-binding room preferences, we collect only your first name, email address, preferred move-in month, flexibility and maximum total rent. These details are stored in the protected internal area in Europe. You receive a confirmation through our IONOS mailbox, and the team can offer you suitable rooms. A full application is not required at this stage.
You may optionally add a photo to your full application. Your application is complete without a photo. Photos are resized, stored without embedded metadata and made available only to the administration team. They are shared with a suitable WG alongside your profile only if you select the separate permission next to the photo.
Personal profile for the WG
With your permission in the form, we share your first name, age, plans in Nuremberg, move-in time frame and personal introduction, including optional hobbies, likes and dislikes, with residents of a suitable WG. We do not share your surname, email address, funding information or supporting documents. You can withdraw your permission for the future using the contact details above. Your phone number requires separate permission. We can process your enquiry without permission to share the profile.
Optional phone number and contact with residents
We only pass an optional phone number to residents of a suitable shared flat if you expressly permit this in the form. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw it at any time for the future using the contact details above. We can process your room enquiry without this consent.
Recipients and transfers outside the EU
Our website-hosting, email and property-management providers process data on our behalf. If data are processed outside the EU, we rely on the data-protection safeguards provided by the relevant service provider. We can explain the safeguards applicable to your data on request. We otherwise share data only when needed for your enquiry, with your consent, or as legally required.
Cookies and analytics
We use Umami Cloud by Umami Software, Inc. for website analytics, with Europe selected as our account’s data region. Umami measures visits to the German and English home pages, visit sources (including campaign tags), approximate location and technical device information, and selected actions such as clicking available rooms by move-in period, successfully submitting an application or room preferences, opening a WhatsApp contact, and viewing available rooms, room preferences, WG life, location, target audience, FAQ and application sections. For these sections, except applications and room preferences, we also measure whether they were in the viewport for at least ten seconds while the browser tab was visible, clicks to register room preferences, and opened FAQ questions. Individual room pages are not recorded as separate page views. No contents of the application form are sent to Umami. We use these statistics to improve the website and our advertising. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in evaluating and improving our offering (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). According to the provider, Umami does not set cookies; it derives a rotating session hash from connection and browser information. See Umami’s privacy information for more details.
This website does not load a Google Ads tag. Floor plans and 360° tours are served from this website; opening them does not connect you to the previous WG website.
Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time for the future. No decision about your room enquiry is made solely by automated means. Please contact klaus.wuest@kkwprojekte.de with questions or requests. You may also lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority; the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA) supervises private businesses in Bavaria.
